To the couple on the downtown A train that looked so cute together
This one day event will celebrate and commemorate interracial couples.
How'd you meet? Was it love or lust at first sight?
Relationship criteria: Couples at any stage of their relationship are welcome to participate. MF (male-female), MM, FF, Trans couples, non-binary, queer -- all relationship orientations are welcome. If you're in a poly relationship only 2 people will be allowed. May-December relationships. The youngest person in the couple must be over 21.
Couples may be multiethnic but should present visually as interracial.
Each couple will be photographed together (portrait shoot) and interviewed about their relationship (video). You're free to share as much or as little as you'd like about your relationship.
Dress code: The only request is that the couples dress alike. Same color top and bottom. Ex. You: crew neck yellow tee, blue jeans, black sneakers Partner: yellow V-neck tee, blue jeans and black boots. The outfits should be as similar as possible. If you want to go full-blown identical twins, don't let me stop your fun!
Couples will receive copies of their portraits and video interview.
Light bites and refreshments will be provided at the event. After your shoot, all couples are welcome to stay for the group photo at the end of the event.
There was nothing out of the ordinary that day, about the ride on the subway or even about the couple that sat across from me. I thought they looked cute together and wondered about their origin story.
